Cigarette Break 06: We Had a Tizzy
Lyndsay Soprano and Jon Ramirez take a Cigarette Break to talk about a recent “Tizzy” they had.
Lyndsay starts the episode by recapping all of the shitty things that have happened to her this week, most importantly the death of her best friend’s mom, who was also basically like her mom, too. Jon laughs about her “white people emo music” AKA Sheryl Crow.
She tells a story about her new hire from Philadelphia calling her and her asking why she was calling at 6am on a Sunday, and the girl responded with “it’s Tuesday, dude.”
They go on to talk about “the tizzy” and the reasons behind it. Jon starts by explaining that he was kind of “bamboozled” by the podcast, and that it has disrupted his personal life and made him step out of his comfort zone. He explains that a lot of his Catholic friends were calling him out and asked him why he was doing the podcast because he knows where The Church stands, but that he wasn’t doing this for his friends because they were already set in their thoughts and feelings. He talks about how for the longest time he thought, “this isn’t me, this isn’t me,” but at the end of the day, this is who he is, and he isn’t perfect and we don’t have it all together.
Lyndsay says that she feels like this has been a good turning point for the show, because it forced them to set up some boundaries for each other that weren’t previously in place and shit wasn’t getting done. This was frustrating for her because they were rocking it, and every time she would go through the analytics, the numbers were impressive. She feels like Jon finally “fell in love with the podcast” and is committed.
She goes on to say that she went back and listened to the first episode again, and was so amazed by how much they have grown in the last twenty episodes, and how much Jon has taught her about herself.
Lyndsay gives an update on the “Molly” situation, and reports that the other day they were texting back and forth with each other and set boundaries not to tempt each other, which led to them sexting each other. She acknowledges that they are definitely toxic for each other. She goes on to say that he came over yesterday, but that they set a baseline and decided not to have sex with each other again. She admits that she wants to have sex with him one last time while they aren’t on drugs because she thinks that it will be bad and will end it. Jon asks what would happen if the sex is good, and she replies that she would have to burn down Pavillions and call the Burbank Fire Department. She explains that “Molly” doesn’t have any qualities that she would ever look for, aside from relieving her from her CRPS pain during the time they were together and on Molly.
